Another favorite lovely little detail that I have grown to love in floral arrangements is the billy button, otherwise known as billy balls, Australian bachelor buttons, drumstick flowers or craspedia globosa/pycnosorus globosa. These bright yellow flowers offer a burst of color throughout your event via bouquets, boutonnieres (my favorite!), and even in your decor (on the cake, a few simple stalks in a mason jar for centerpieces, etc.)
Although they are a perennial wildflower found in Australia and New Zealand, these bright beauties have been finding themselves worldwide lately and I consider them a rising star in the "details". Don't live in Australia or New Zealand? You can also buy them as seeds to plant in your own yard here in the US or abroad.
Here are a few of my favorite shots of billy buttons working their magic:
I love all the simple colors in this bouquet - the blue satin wrapped stems, the green lemon leaves, and of course the yellow billy buttons.

See how they add a touch of color to the decor? Love it.
You can even pull this lovely little detail all the way through to your paper suite!
Simple and classic.
A statement bouquet with a summery color palette.
And adds a perfect pop of color to the cake :)

I think I love the bride's dress as much as the bouquet!
I love when a hidden detail works its way up to becoming a main event, which is exactly what the billy button has done over the past few years. Have any other images to share? Contact me!
